Studying Science

Throughout my education I had an affinity for the sciences. I found myself choosing to study more and more the treatments of human diseases – diabetes, cystic fibrosis, infection, cardiovascular disease, dementia, malignancy, and more.

These studies soon included a BSc in Biomedical Sciences and then a MSc in Cancer Biology and Therapeutics, where I got hands-on knowledge of the process of drug discovery.

While studying, I took on a great job as a bartender at an iconic local night club and live music venue. Providing customer service was a lot of fun – and an experience I continue to draw from.

Why Biotech?

As I finished my MSc, the 2020 coronavirus pandemic began. I was furloughed from my hospitality position, and quickly decided to take on roles aiding the COVID response.

First within a diagnostic development and manufacturing business producing PCR tests, and secondly a “Lighthouse Lab” start-up. A rapid fire introduction to the pharma and biotech industry.

Road back to drug discovery

After a stint at a local chemical manufacturing business doing Safety, Health, Environment and Quality analysis work, I decided to return closer to home: the drug discovery world.

I joined Singular Talent to couple my biosciences and hospitality background, to help conscientious candidates meet impactful businesses.

I get to do my bit in my own way to push drug discovery forwards.
