Where I started

My beginnings are in literature – after doing my undergraduate degree at Exeter University in Classical Studies and English Literature, I found myself going back to studying (as everyone who gets the academia bug seems to do), this time at Goldsmiths College doing an MA in Children’s Literature.

I became an Executive Assistant because I found that the skills I learnt along the way lent themselves perfectly to it: attention to detail, critical thinking, communication skills – and then add to that list the fact that I really love what I do.

Why Biotech?

As you can tell, my background is not science-based at all. So, why did I apply to work in biotech!?

My motivation for working in biotech is being a small cog in a much larger machine that’s constantly working to improve peoples’ lives. I was looking for a dynamic role where I felt I could contribute to making a real difference, and that’s exactly what I’ve found here at Singular. My role in supporting the business and the team to create and expand opportunities is really unique, and I enjoy every minute of it.

After work

I’m still a voracious reader (even now that it’s not compulsory reading!) and I write the occasional children’s book when the inspiration takes me. You’ll usually find me planning holidays with my husband (Australia 2026 here we come!) and doing any and all kinds of arts and crafts.
